2015 End of the Year President Report
The Leather Foundation continues to grow and change. And that is a good thing.
In our LIFE Condom Fund Goal, we have lost some locations due to their inactivity or their business closure such as: Bourbon Street, Dog House and Obelisk. We have continued our progress by distributing to all the VA Clinics and we hope to add the new clinic in Sorrento Valley. We are working to expand the LIFE Condom Fund to incorporate our new program for PReP. Check back on the website for the addition of this new and exciting feature.
In our emergency funds, there was a change In that the Wish Emergency Fund closed and moved to the Leather Heart Foundation and we opened a new emergency fund in San Diego and we still have an active fund in Los Angeles. In the coming year, we expect and expand food storage into community emergencies.
The HIPS Program continues to provide case management for HIV and Hep C clients. Currently, they are working with 83 of them. Our HIPS staff consist of 5 volunteer case managers. The staff has been very active in the El Cajon area with the homeless, giving food and hygiene kits. The HIPS staff began going to St. Paul Episcopal Cathedral to help with the mobile shower.
This year the foundation received THREE grants.
In another area, we have added new groups to our administer funds: SDGOL, SD Eagle Scholarship, and the Stomping Ground.
We thank ALL who gave their time and talent and look forward to another successful year.
